Just joined recently. Hi to all from Panama. Lately, I have been enjoying washed Panama gesha. It was a little disappointing for a gesha. It didn't have the proper notes one expects in a gesha. Which is odd as the source, a good friend of mine, has better gesha. I guess for the price. It was still an excellent cup, just not a great gesha. So. I am back to a washed catuai. I prefer washed caturra, but my favourite was typica from my farm, which I abandoned a few years ago. That was incredible

Lovely bright sunny day up here in the North-East, and I'm starting off with an espresso from Hasbean's 2010 Premium Blend.

I roasted these on Thursday, going a little bit darker than I normally would, and it seems to have suited the blend well. A subtle sweetness to the aftertaste.

What's everyone else drinking?
This morning I had a Nestor Lasso Competition Lot AJI Natural Columbia from Long & Short in Walthamstow. Absolutely delicious, the owner Jeremy is on another level. Hands down top 5 in London

Just finished up a bag of Zennor, Colombia, El Diviso, Nestor Lasso, thermal shock anaerobic, natural Ombligon.

A light roast, a few quakers & paler looking beans (some of which I removed when convenient), but very enjoyable. I scored it 4.3/5.0 on subjective, overall liking (compared to 4.2/5.0 average for all drip/pour over brews), 4/5 acidity, 3/5 bitterness, 2/5 intensity.

Tasting notes suggest Haribo cherry, I’ve never had these but there's definitely a cherry vibe, perhaps more like that in Belgian kriek beer, or the aftertaste from cherry Tunes?

All brewed as pour over/drip.

Where do you get your beans from mate?

Just fell off my chair when I saw the price for 100g 🧐

Got some Finca El Morito, a Peruvian medium roast coffee from Monmouth this weekend and I seem to have gone through the 200g already (had some guests as well) so I’ll be cracking open Red Brick from Square Mile, but need a couple more days (roasted on the 24th)

That’s all that matters at the end of the day.
And it’s these things that make life worth living that little bit more. If I still lived in Walthamstow I’d surely drop in there for a cup and see what I’m missing
