Hello, I just bought Sage Smart Grinder Pro and De'Longhi Dedica EC685 to start to make espresso and cappuccino at home. I use the default settings (17.8s and grind size 12) for 2 shots to start grinding beans with the double shot basket coming from EC685. It seems the default setting for 2 shots ground by the grinder is too much. The ground coffee starts splitting out just half-way through the process. It tried finer grind size down to 7 but it didn't help. I then tried to adjust the amount to something like 12s. It still seems too much. I then tried the 1 shot default. It looks about right for the double shot basket. I am not sure if it is right to start with. May I get some suggestion on the settings that I can start with before I waste more coffee beans? Thank you.

Thanks Dusk for the suggestion. I don't have a gram scale at home unfortunately but I will source one.

While you grind for your single dose, how does the coffee fill the basket before you press? Does it just fully fill it?
