I wondered if any contributors have experience of this machine. I'd planned to buy a Lelit Mara X until recently, but some seem to have been struggling with it, including finding particles in the hot water outlet, to the extent that they were returning it.

Thank you both! I had a quick look at the acs - just not sure, given its layout, it would work in its intended location.

Dave, I see you often advise on the detailed workings (and not workings) of a number of machines so most grateful for the ECM steer.

The engineering looks very well laid out and is it probably what I will go for.

I am so far from what I envisaged spending on this!!

The ECM is a well built HX machine with quality components. You shouldn't really compare the machines because one is an HX, the other a dual boiler (big boilers too). Both products, are mature now, with few problems when in service.

The critical thing for either machine is to use good water.

I'd be slightly cautious about taking a company's advice on a competitors machine. A Mercedes dealer is pretty unlikely to suggest you buy an Audi if you know what I mean. ECM machines are very well made but in terms of specs (and probably performance) the Minima has the ECM well and truly beaten.
