You need to have 5 posts in order to upload photos.

I would suspect the non heating boiler is blocked with scale or the element is faulty/ dead.

If you have access to a test meter or a friendly electrician this should indicate the problem.

 

Hi. This machine had like 20 coffees done so it's pretty much new. I have a test meter but I am not sure where to check for the voltage. Would you be able to upload a photo of the connectors that I can check?

 

If it is new you should contact the seller or return to shop, or do you mean it was new to you ?. If you have dismantled it you will have cancelled any warranty.

I do not have that machine and so cannot photograph.

With the machine unplugged !!! Set your meter to low ohms, remove the wires from 'cold' boiler apply the probes to the terminals and take a reading.

Also test between terminals and boiler body, note reading.

 

It's new to me. Definitely out of warranty. It was one of those "customer returns" that are re-sold without any warranty. When I get home I will try to take some readings and when I get 5 posts I will upload the picture which would be a lot easier to point out what and where. Thanks

 

Hello again. I have managed to find the fault. It was one of the thermal fuses. I've made a temporary fusy quickly to check if it works and now just need to order a replacement. Thanks for your help

 

Change the fuse as soon as possible or you may have a more serious problem.

As it implies the fuse is heat sensitive, if you have concocted a 'normal' fuse it will not work

 

I have only used the temporary fuse to check if the machine works as expected and then turned it all off.

New fuse is on order now so I won't be using this machine until the new fuse is fitted.

Hi, I know its an old thread but did you take any photos as to which thermal fuse as mine is doing EXACTLY the same. Was it an SMD fuse or on the end of wires?
