Hi all, after 2 years of happy ownership from new of my DE1 pro machine I've become restless again and am considering a move to something simpler - perhaps the LM Micra. Anyway on to the details:

- DE1 Pro v1.42 purchased direct from Decent 01/09/2021 with 1572 on the shot counter as of today. It has proven to be extremely reliable without any issues or repair

- At this stage I have been a little lazy with photos. More can be provided but at this stage rest assured that having had a good look over the machine the only real sign of use worth mentioning is a little scratch around the group head. I actually hadn't noticed it before giving the machine a quick clean today as it's small and easily mistaken for a little dried milk mark. I'm pretty fussy when it comes to condition but I would say that besides this the machine appears unmarked and in excellent condition.

- Early on I made my own custom wooden handles for the portafilter and grouphead which I'll probably hang on to. The original black handles have therefore seen almost no use and are in new condition.

- The rpavlis water recipe has only ever been used from day 1 so there are no scale issues to worry about. The grouphead has been kept clean with backflushing.

- All original accessories are included along with the suitcase and outer cardboard box. The intake filter has been upgraded to version 2 in December 2022. I also changed the shower screen at some point which subjectively improved water dispersion, but the original will be included in any case. The seller can have the 3D printed PF holder seen in the photos if they like as well.

- I replaced the standard basic tablet with a Lenovo M10 FHD Plus in order to improve the size (10.3") and resolution (1920 x 1200) of the display. This is a great improvement and will be included in the sale.

I'm based just outside of East London (DA17) and collection preferred, but shipping possible!

Thanks all

No problem regarding the late response- I’ve been away in any case.

I have 2 people who are already interested on Decent’s own forum (Basecamp) and I’m just waiting to hear back from one of them about a potential visit.

I’ll get back to you shortly when I have heard back. Is £2k your maximum offer?

Right, I’ve heard back from one of the other interested parties and they need another week before they’d be able to come by and view. Price drop to £2,100- @truecksuk if you can offer this then you could collect today or in the evenings/weekend.

Thanks

The buyer notified me this morning that they are withdrawing from the sale and so the machine is now available again. It’s all cleaned up and ready to go.

The 4 day delay leaving me hanging on what day they were going to collect this weekend and then pulling out is pretty disappointing to be honest. C’est la vie.

Ha, funny the differing journeys that we go on with this coffee thing ey!

In the end I actually picked up a Micra late December and have been enjoying the "does one thing really well" approach. But a couple of years ago when I bought the Decent I was very much in a place where I wanted to experiment with every possible parameter and would not have even considered a machine like the Micra at the time. For me I think this recent change has come down to moving on from a big interest in playing with the process of making the coffee in combination with many different types and styles of coffee beans, to more recently an appreciation for the simple ritual of "making" coupled with the same bag of coffee for a couple of weeks at a time.

It goes without saying that both machines have given me fantastic coffee of course! I would guess you'd get good money for an almost new Micra should you decide you're interested in making a switch.

The roast of the beans is an important point- over the last 2 years I’ve gradually realised I only want to drink medium-dark. The decent excels at lighter roasts.

The steaming is slower but also very forgiving, especially with the room to position the jug however you want.

Yes the chip mentioned in the post is the only mark of significance that I can see. Whereabouts are you based? You’re welcome to drop in and have a look.
