It's a generic Auber PID - on the Auber site for $37. It's different to the Gaggia specific PIDs that have extra features (steam, preinfuse) - if the Auber website is to be believed. However, it is possible that these are enabled through hidden menu configuration.

 

Hi, I did read a thread where additional features were possible through the menu. I suppose it depends whether Auber upload there features to PID unit separately or whether they just enable them.

Maybe worth a punt?! Do you know what else would be needed in the kit?

 

No, no idea - sorry.... Personally I'd rather take a punt on an eBay PID if you're not buying the complete Gaggia kit from Auber

 

This guy seems to have gone the same route though - worth a read, but as I said the generic eBay PIDs may well give you the same functionality with the same ease of installation and much lower cost.

I don't see the same unit nd box a s he shows on this site, did you find them as they look good quality

 

I had a good look through the ebay options and possible kits but thought if this is the same Auber PID will have the same programming possibility for stream and pre infusion etc at more than half the price!

Thanks for the link, that might come in handy from what to get. I'm assuming the Gaggia set up is the same for the Silvia.
