After a few weeks experimentation with my new CP, I decided it was time to give it a wee clean/have a look at the Ti burrs. To my horror, I noticed that the coating had been partially worn off at parts of the edge. There is no gouge per se...with a fignernail you can just make out the difference in texture between the Ti and the bare metal.
I am about 98% sure I never touched these together (never even chirped up to calibrate), but given this came in a sealed carton and that it is unlikely (I think) to have shipped like this, I must entertain the idea that I done furked up bigly at some point when experimenting. I notice that there are 2 or 3 areas in the crushers where the coating has also chipped off - could something have gone through this grit wise? I would have expected more damage if so.
Anyway, I assume it won't affect the coffee in the short term (?)....but what will happen with time? I assume these area will wear more and need early replacement? What say ye?
Thx.
-Annoyed as heck.
