Filter Coffee machines are there any good ones?

Hello folks

Its been a wee while since I last posted, been alternating between my moka pot and Aeropress for my morning and midday brews. I have a few friends over often so the Aeropress and moka pot do not make enough coffee for us all. I am looking for a machine that will make 3 good sized mugs, not espresso but just good non instant coffee.

I was thinking of maybe a Filter machine with a carafe, but maybe there is another machine/equipment that would suit this purpose. Budget would be around £40ish.

Cheers guys.

I dont mind a wee bit of manual labour, I will have a look at the Chemex.

Chemex you would need a pouring kettle too btw
That would be the same for most of the pour over methods? Has anyone used a Sowden?

I have just been watching some youtube vids on brewing, I kind of like the look of those Vacuum Brewers... I can see this turning into another collection
:p

My parents have a Cuisinart filter machine with a built in burr grinder. Coffee from it is terrible and we've never been able to figure out why so I'm quite interested in seeing the recommendations roll in. I had considered the brazen for them but not sure they could be bothered with having to have a separate grinder.

Does anyone have any experience with the breville grind control brewer? Seems somewhat like a brazen but with a built in burr grinder.

Cool. Should be fine with the Sowden, grind just coarse enough to keep obvious silt down & leave half a mugful or so in the brewer, there should just be a little light dust in the cup but no quinic/pruney bitter flavours.
