Hey there, I've been at this for almost a year now with the ZP6. should I consider the Commandante and is there much of a difference?

I had a Comandante X25, rather than the C40 (but the same axle & burrs), and I have a Lido (same Etzinger burrs as the ZP6). I found the steps inconveniently large on the Comandante, and the stepless Lido easier to dial in.

I'm not a fan of grinders with the adjustment on the underside of the grinder, that rely on dissassembly/counting clicks to find your setting.

In its favour, I found the Comandante had a low grind resistance and was relatively easy to turn.

I considered the Commandante, but went for the 1ZPresso JX Pro for moka pot, and a few years later I bought an espresso machine. By all accounts the Commandante adjustment steps are too coarse unless you buy the Red Clix version. And it has plastic components which put me off.

The JX Pro works very well, my espresso is far superior to anything I’ve had in a cafe with two exceptions which were as good. Build quality is fine, grind quality is fine, but several issues annoy me. Firstly it can be so hard to grind that I have to grind ~5g at a time, which means filling, grinding, taking the handle off and refilling, grinding again and again taking the handle off and refilling, and grinding. It does depend on the beans, some are easy to grind. I bought a new handle when I damaged the old one, and ordered it without the cover so I could refill easily, but they sent me the handle with a free handle and a free cover which I cannot remove! Secondly the silicone sleeve slips down, often by several cm, and has to be manually repositionned. That happens because grinding is to hard. Thirdly the screw on catch cup rattles, and has to be retightened a few times. A magnetic catch cup solves that last issue.

I would probably consider the Kinu M47 were I to buy today. My questions would be, can I grind 14g beans for espresso in one go, does the catch cup rattle, and does it have plastic components.
