Consider what you already spent + what you're thinking of spending add to that what you might spend in 3 years time. All for machines that don't really make proper espresso.That sort of money can get you a really nice used prosumer machine that will last decades. It will also make proper espresso and much better steamed milk drinks because it will properly steam milk.
 
What prosumer machine would you recommend for 200€? Sadly I have no way of knowing if the person selling took care of it or not.

I'd gladly spend more money, my non-coffee drinking wife however disagrees

Milk I'm not planning to use the wand, I got a seperate milk frothner to save me some time (froth and brew at the same time)
I would not recommend any used prosumer for 200 euro and that's not an amount of money I recommended?

Until you use a real steam wand with good steam, you will have little idea of the huge difference it makes to the milk.
