I have zero technical skills. Are there any recommended service providers out there I could send it to (not to add to the double entendres!)?

Have a 10 year old Gaggia classic used and cleaned regularly. Recently noticed the flow from the head doesnโ€˜t generate the โ€œGuinnessโ€ like creamy head it used to. Flow instead appears a bit slower and the coffee shot looks like flat Coca Cola. Tastes the same though. Same beans so assume...

Thanks, will give that a try.

I have an 8 year old Gaggia Classic and recently noticed when running an espresso shot through there's a constant stream of water coming through the wand, rather than the occasional drip. It stops when I stop running the shot. Any thoughts on this? It has been a long time since I've cleaned the...

Thanks all. I think where I was going wrong was removing the existing basket and just using the rubber disk. It looks like I actually place the rubber disk IN the basket.... Come on you reds....

Quick question - I attempted to backflush my Gaggia Classic today for the first time. I used the rubber disk sold by Happy Donkey but rather than forcing white froth from the bottom of the exhaust tube the whole thing just exploded once the pressure built up! I guess the seal just isn't great...

1 week in and all going well. Pouring 2 shots nicely in around 25 seconds but I wonder if I need to adjust the grind because the espresso is coming out like a Guinness and taking a while to settle. Once settled it looks and tastes ok to me, but perhaps could be a tad stronger. Should it come out...

Just used a vst 18g ridgeless in my classic replacing the standard pressurised basket and it worked beautifully first time (at least in my eyes!). First shots came out after 10 seconds looking like a Guinness, finished 15 seconds later and settled very nicely with a great looking crema, or...

Thanks for the tip. I'll try this tomorrow (can't take any more caffeine today - my wee's turned brown!)

Thanks both. I adjusted the grinder (made coarser) and that seemed to do the trick. I also replaced the steam wand with a rancilio one because the gaggia just produced a mountain of foam. However, the rancilio just made an horrendously loud noise (like Concorde taking off) got the temperature...

Had a go running my firsts shots through the classic this morning. Suspect too fine a grind initially because the shot was very week. Made the grind a little corser since but it's now taking at least 30 seconds for anything to come out and there's not much after a minute. I'm using the double...

Apologies if this has already been covered - there is an o-ring on the replacement Rancillio steam wand (purchased from HappyDonkey) but I can't see one on the existing Gaggia Classic steam wand I've unscrewed. If I take the o-ring off the Rancillio replacement it seems to fit perfectly in to...

Hmmm, maybe should have bought a nespresso (only joking!). I guess it's a case of getting the stopwatch out and checking the volumes produced each time. Any more recommendations?

Ok, how on earth then do you find the correct grind point without wasting a sack of beans?!

Quick newbie question. New grinder arrived today. Only using it for espresso shots. How far clockwise can I dial without damaging the blades (I've read better that way then 12 turns back). Do you feel much more resistance when you're near the end?

Thanks - every penny counts (original reason for buying the classic was to save ยฃยฃ at the local chain coffee shop but I think I was kidding myself!) Was it easy to fit? Did you have to swap nuts / washers etc or just unscrew the old and then screw this one in?

Will this version do the trick: http://www.myespresso.co.uk/product.php/419/rancilio-frothing-arm-2008-version-fits-gaggia-classic Or should I go for the later model (twice the price - ยฃ27 at HappyMonkey)?

Either the mc2 or mdf. Can I take it the new Classic on Amazon is ok?

Hello. Just about to take the plunge and go for my first espresso machine with the Gaggia Classic (nearly turned to the dark side with a Nespresso machine but was persuaded otherwise by feedback on this great forum!). Before I do can I just check the version for sale on Amazon is the one to go...
