I've checked/tested the motor and alas it's proper goosed, so yes, I still have all the bits including the base plate. There are a couple of slight melt-marks on the front of it (see the picture), hope that's still OK? D'you need the lead weight screwed into it, too? Just that that'll increase...

Thanks for the tip, Pete! I'll try and borrow a bench power supply and give that a shot, see if I can breathe some life into it. (It does sound like a possible cause.) If I can fix it I'll Pay It Forward the whole grinder, but for now the parts are still up for grabs :)

View Advert Iberital MC2 Auto parts spares/repair My Iberital MC2 Auto grinder finally gave up the ghost (trips the circuit breaker when powered on, seems to be a fault with the motor) and thanks to this thread I'm replacing it with a Eureka Mignon Crono from Clumsy Goat, which seems like...

My Iberital MC2 Auto grinder finally gave up the ghost (trips the circuit breaker when powered on, seems to be a fault with the motor) and thanks to this thread I'm replacing it with a Eureka Mignon Crono from Clumsy Goat, which seems like a decent upgrade given my budget. Rather than just...

I'm afraid jezzaus just pipped you to it! He PMed earlier and the gauge is going in the post tomorrow. Message him your address so he can send it on to you afterwards?

The gauge arrived with me today and I've used it to confirm that I'm running at 10 bar static (I'd previously adjusted it blind and was lucky enough to have gotten it right). So it's ready to be posted on to whoever wants it next, assuming that's cool with Martyn. Thanks again to Nod for...

Would it be OK to put my name down for this, please? I got the usual budget setup of an MC2 + Classic a few weeks ago and would like to do the OPV mod, see if it makes a difference. Thanks!

I'll second the recommendation of the Zojirushi stainless mug, it's great. I got mine from Amazon with Prime shipping (under 'More Buying Options' click the 'XX new' link and then filter by Prime only), which means it'll come from Amazon's UK warehouse and not incur any import duties that a few...

Ah, fair enough. My apologies for cluttering your thread. Best of luck with the sale.

Oh, I should add that I'm happy to do a bank transfer to avoid any PayPal fees, if that's a concern.

Thanks, but as this would be over 15KG and I'm in the Isle of Man Parcel2Go didn't offer me UPS, only Yodel, and unfortunately there aren't any UPS Access Points here on the island anyway. (I checked yesterday.) Interestingly, in Parcel2Go's Yodel prohibited items list, they explicitly state...

Hi Richard, Would you accept ยฃ180, with me paying whatever the courier costs on top? Shipping's going to be a tad expensive MyHermes don't seem to do over 15KG, and I'd be a bit concerned about using them anyway as they say that their items excluded from compensation are "electrical or...

It couldn't have gone much worse, could it? I was hoping that maybe it wasn't too serious, 'cause he normally "bounces" pretty well, but given how much pain he looked to be in it never looked good. I hope he doesn't need surgery and he heals quickly - it'd be great if he's well enough to ride...

Ah, thanks, Stephen, I didn't know that! I guess a better way of putting it would've been that "the political class" wanted it? So they could line their mates' and trust funds' pockets, no doubt - and quite successful they were, too, given the rise from the initial share price. As for Europe...

Thank you, David. Yes, it's a beautiful island with a nice community, do like it here a lot. I just wish house prices weren't quite so high! (Struggling to get on the ladder, the property market here's kinda terrifying.)

I'm also very interested, but I'll have to defer to mraie as he (or she) posted first, and is in a similar position to me: I'm in the Isle of Man so would have to arrange for a courier, too.

Thanks, Tiny tamper. I'd been looking at the Mignon (found a PDF by Bella Barista comparing a few grinders), but alas it may be a bit out of my price range, so I'd settled on going for an MC2. Perhaps I'll get lucky and pick a nice one up secondhand, though, or keep saving for a while longer...

Hi Pyro! Yeah, postage here's a bit of a killer. There's some respite when using Royal Mail (or ParcelForce) as we're thankfully covered by the Universal Service so it just the normal price, but if it's any other courier then they usually gouge us for as much as they can get away with, typically...

Thanks for the welcome, guys! I'm sure there's a local law that supporting Cav in le Tour earns you honorary Manx citizenship, so you're definitely getting there, Phil104 Shame Peter Kennaugh wasn't selected this time 'round, but he'll be mighty next year. Cheers or the heads-up in the For...

Hello fine folks, Just thought I'd introduce myself here: the name's Stef and I'm in the Isle of Man, are there any other Manxies on the forum? I've been using an AeroPress daily for the past few years with HasBean beans and a Porlex ceramic grinder, and think it's time to take the next step...
