Actually you can smell the smoky notes as soon as you grind the coffee. Iยดll keep trying before giving up on this fella haha Thank you for the advice, I will try some of the things you mention. Wood pizza oven smells the same as those blackened parts in pizza crust which is delicious with...

I guess I could try that. I did it once with a Colombian coffee and it did improved after a few weeks. Thank you! Cheers!

Hi! Thank you for your reply! I always blame the roast last, but I think I've had encounters with a few bags that can't be rescued from their early grave. This one particularly has some smoky notes that I don't find appealing [similar to a wood pizza oven]. With my usual V60 parameters I...

Hi guys! Have you ever struggled with grinding/brewing/getting right that one bag of coffee? My current nightmare is a bag of Guatemala that no matter what I do [different grind settings, V60, Kalita, French Press, Tetsu Kasuya's 4:6 method, etc] always end up disliking my cup. You ever...

Hi guys! I'm experimenting a little bit with the Kalita Wave and so far I am impressed! I achieved this slurry with Hario Mini Mill - 6 clicks. 300 ml of water and 20 grams of coffee. Any advice will be most appreciated! The taste of the coffee was good, a bit strong and heavy bodied but not...

I actually did the tap spin but to my taste it got over extracted, so I'm just stirring with a spoon now.

I think you are right! Temperature is not an issue for me, Im used to maintain heat in small vessels, I do think my grind could be better tho. For water I use Vand filters which are similar to Brita. The Java Maestro looks quite interesting!

I've used moka pot, french press and Hario V60, so far my favourite is V60 since I can taste the different layers of the beans. I have the basic kit and a wooden coffee mill which is not bad but it could be better for drip coffee I think, so maybe Ill try with the Hario Coffee Mill. Im using...

Hey guys! My name is Jay, I currently live in Chile which has a very interesting coffee scenario. For the past decade I've dedicated my time to learn gongfu cha (chinese tea preparation) and I belong to the Urasenke School in Japan which focuses in the preparation of matcha tea. So here I am in...

Hey guys! Im new in the forum and I must say Im having lots of fun reading this topic! I wanted to share my slurry which I achieved with a wood mill, the first pic was when I didnt know the settings and the grind came out too coarse, then I adjusted the settings and did a second brew.
