Our Sage has completely stopped pulling in water - nothing via any of the methods / cleaning cycles and on most it just gives up Contacted support and they believe it's either a scale problem or an incredibly overpriced repair We scale regularly (whenever it asks) but are in a hard water area...

Sorry everyone, I've had issues logging in... So... still experiencing this. I'm taking on board everything said above and am going to re-dial in and start from fresh and see where we get

So, I've just disproved this theory (sorry!), but sadly didn't think to record as it's been working okay. Just did 4th pull of the day, second two pulls within an hour of the first two and it did the low pour on the fourth. So can't be sure to stale grind Sent from my F1 using Tapatalk

So... Been trying to catch a video every day this week but the issue seems to have (mostly) disappeared So weird. It's been doing it consistently for a few weeks now and its like the act of posting this has simply resolved it Sent from my F1 using Tapatalk

Someone else mentioned this to me. I don't really understand why that would (or more importantly should) make a difference, but I have tried this, didn't seem to make a difference It does sometimes work, but for no rhyme or reason! Typically tried to take a video and it worked so will try again...

We have had this issue for a month or so now and not really sure what might be causing it Whenever we make more than one coffee (most of the time) the second pull is always restricted - almost as if the machine is choking. First pull is spot on The machine however sounds fine, and nothing has...

So, had a mate over yesterday whos much more experienced than me and has had a sage for ages. After playing with it for a few hours his conclusion is that it's faulty as well Basically not getting the resistance we should - it's unable to choke in any situation. Grinder is fine apparently...

Dual wall basket made a huge difference. MUCH better cup of coffee and quantity of water with these beans... Question then becomes, what's the downside of using this basket in future?
  12. Barista Skills for the home enthusiast
Thanks - I already ordered some fresh beans as I'd never have bought these anyway (perils of leaving the wife to the shopping while away!), but it would be good to know how to open and adjust the burr for future reference - do you know where i would find these instructions? When you say...

Okay, i don't have that accurate a scales, but i got roughly 18g on grind size 5 and 22g on grind size 2 On both however the coffee quantity was nearly 8x at 120g I'm tamping the buggery out of it to compact it enough on the grind size 5, far less son on grind size 2 In none of these cases...

There is an external range adjustment wheel, not sure on internal, but I'm not seeing anything in the manualhttps://www.breville.com/content/dam/breville/ca/assets/miscellaneous/instruction-manual/espresso/BES880-instruction-manual.pdf Apparently grind size goes to 30 though! (and I'm at 1)...

New member here - hi! We just 'upgraded' from a Delonghi Magnifica Bean to Cup to a Sage Barista Touch and so far I havent been that successful. We previously had a Delonghi manual with separate grinder so understand the 'basics' of a tamp etc but on the Sage I just don't seem to be able to...
