Looking to buy a bottomless portafilter for an old Gaggia (58mm). Preferably genuine Gaggia. Used condition is fine. Let me know what you've got. Thanks!

Nice! Thank you @Rincewind I will certainly try the WD40 on the bearing next. The reason I opened it right up was to see if I could just install a new bearing but I couldn't figure out how to remove the big gear wheel on the opposite side of that shaft. I will open it up again and take photos if...

Hi. Is this speaking from experience / reading about this issue before or just an idea? The machine was on for around 10 minutes, possibly even a bit less. The manual says the machine should be ready in 6 minutes. Do you think waiting 20 minutes would make a near 30 degree C difference? When I had it stripped, I did remove the stats, cleaned off the old thermal paste and...

I'm at the final stage of refurbing this old Gaggia "ESPRESSO". I have completely stripped and cleaned it. Installed new o-rings + a blue silicone Cafelat group gasket. After reassembling, I discovered the steam wand was leaking terribly so I performed the valve modification. Now...

    * WARNING * Amateur strikes again ???????? Thought I would post about my experience to give you seasoned engineers a laugh! I ended up with an old adjustable die and after my first pass, the nut worked but it seemed a bit wobbly (only during the screw, no movement once fully tightened)...
