Everything is resolved! I got my replacement machine from Coffee addicts, night & day difference! Now this is what a new machine should look like out of the box. Super happy now.

Im not sure what you mean by that? I've never purchased a new machine let alone returned one before. So this is new for me. I just went back to using my Starbucks machine (Saeco Sin006). My Saeco looks old/used and I'm fine with it. I just didnt want to Pay full price for something new that...

So I did end up sending back the GCP to Amazon. It was a long wait for them to return the funds and then they marked the machine up to $972 CAD (price eventually went back down to $681...I paid $656 originally but by the time Amazon lowered the price I already purchased a machine elsewhere). I...

Ok, thanks for the reply. I was getting so hung up on the timing being perfect. Guess I'll stop worrying about it so much!

I agree, it was a dismissive response. I am a little upset to pay full price for something that may have been used previously or just cosmetically defective but Amazon will not do partial refunds, only option is replace the machine once its returned. I still haven't decided. I have till Friday...

Heard back from Gaggia must have been sold a used machine because I know I never put anything like that group head. My window is closing fast to return ( Feb.1) ... it seems to work fine and they wont send a replacement. I just have to return a buy again. I'm not sure. I'll probly keep the...

My mini scale is 0.1g but not my larger portafilter scale. I'll check out some threads but likely order another off Amazon.

Thanks for all the pointers, I really appreciate it! I didn't think I went finer on my grinder...so that's where I'm getting confused One click higher should be coarser correct? I was originally using 18g in my 18g basket but it was making a screen imprint on the puck every time so I moved...

The round mini scale failed on my most recent sub optimal shot so I didn't get the weight (see video). The only reason I changed the grind by 1 click coarser (1.5.3 clockwise to 1.5.4 ...not sure if im reading out the numbers right) is because Im trying to acheive 17g in 34g out in 25-30sec...

Just pulled this shot (see video) Only change from the previous one was 1 click coarser with the 1zpresso JMAX and Using the mini scale. It just never works which is why I have been weighing the cup on the larger portafilter scale before and after the shot. I drank the shot but it wasn't that...

My scales don't work well on the GCP. The numbers usually jump around, freeze or just shut off. So I've just been weighing the cup on my larger portafilter scale before and after the shot for the time being.

Pulled another shot this evening and it was the best tasting yet. I do think it's a bit slow now so I'll go 1 click coarser tmrw. This was 17g in 28g out In 30ish seconds (I stopped it a tad too early).

Not the best workflow. I'm not used to making videos so hopefully it's not too terrible. Same grinder setting as last time. It wasn't strong enough for me but drinkable. I also filled the water tank after this as it was pretty low (oops). Still have a screen imprint so going to try less again...
  14. All Grinders & Hand-Grinders
Ok thanks so much. I think I'm just trying too many things at once. I really need to get a solid workflow down. I'm waiting for a new tamper (58.4 Motta wooden tamper) as I returned the coffee addicts 2in1 leveler/tamper as it was just too awkward for me.

Thanks for the reply! I usually weigh the grounds on my mini scale in the 1zpresso cup before & after I grind. I then use the larger scale for the funnel and portafilter, wdt, then tamp. I have also flipped the steam switch for a few seconds prior to pulling a shot the last time as I heard...

Hey there! I noticed lately my shots are getting worse. Maybe the coffee beans I opened Dec. 30th? are getting too old? I'm regretting buying 2 bags of beans now $80 down the drain if they go bad this fast. Also, I'm having to grind much much finer and I think is still flowing too fast also...

Yeah could be. I just know It came like this and so far nothing is removing it :/

Isopropyl 99% didn't affect it at all. I'll try acetone once I pick some up. No reply from Gaggia my window to return is closing with Amazon but I think I'll just put up with it.

I haven't tried that but I'll give it a go. Luckily its not super visible for the most part. Im not sure when or how it happened. I know I haven't had it near any paint or mesh while it's been on so if it isn't from factory im hoping I didn't get a used machine and paid full price for it :/
