Saw this in Home-Barista.com, check out: Bezzera BZ10 leaks into tank continually. The problem was in the valve labelled 15 in the above diagrams.

Any ideas? I've now descaled the red and green sections as well, to no avail.

My BZ10 started leaking into the water reservoir from the tubing leading into the OPV. Symptoms: When the pump is running there is a stream of water coming out of the tubing shown in the photo. This pauses for a moment after the pump stops, then when the boiler pressure rises I have boiling...

Clever design. What's wrong with using bags with one way valves? Is it an aesthetics thing?

"The new rule simply means that coffee machines on the market after January 2015 must have an energy efficient option by having an eco mode that puts the hotplate or element into standby after a certain period (see below): thereby saving on people's electricity bills. The eco mode will be the...

Good tip regarding the electric screwdriver, I recall reading about that "mod" back when I used the Skerton as my main grinder but never implemented it. I will need to purchase a couple of bits to make it work, let me see what I can do and report back.

Years of work-related tendon overuse have made it somewhat painful for me to use a manual grinder for long: I start to get mild elbow pain after using my Hario Skerton for a few mornings in a row. Yet I don't know of any suitable alternatives for when I'm on the go. Any suggestions from the...

Surely the oft-quoted 30-40m warm-up time would mostly apply to the 1st coffee of the day, especially if the room is warm to begin with?

Thanks, all. I don't really need a grinder but having a look around to see if there's anything interesting/different near me. I have a feeling it would be a rather long drive up to dfk41's. This would be something to maybe leave at the in-laws' for when we're visiting. I'm currently carting a...

I've been trawling classifieds sites in search of a potential grinder. Have no real need for another at the moment but might jump at a bargain. All ex-cafรฉ stock, nobody seems to know what they're selling so I thought I would turn to the CFUK hive mind might help me out. Grinder 1, asking โ‚ฌ39...

Sounds normal until it starts stuttering about 35s into the video. Had you been running it for long periods before filming? I believe these pumps need a minute of downtime after each minute of use. They may overheat if run for too long as they're not designed for that sort of duty cycle.

Good idea. I would get a lot more than 100g this time so that even if you make a few mistakes you'll still be able to keep experimenting without having to start from scratch with a new coffee. Get at least 250g, if not double that (depending on how much coffee you drink). Does the coffee bag...

I don't understand.. Has the plastic sofa cover salesman run out of the matching drip tray and cup warmer covers? [emoji14]

Interesting, I've yet to hear or read of the heater cartridge failing on these. I researched it extensively prior to buying my BZ10 as there are no Bezzera authorised repairers nationally where I live. Doesn't mean it can't happen, of course. The Snake logo handles are quite plasticky...

The new Bezzera Duo has PID-controlled heating cartridges in the group. Could be interesting.

You're right, upon closer inspection the Graef is different to the Sunbeam EM0480, they do offer similar levels of adjustability to the SGP as far as grind fineness is concerned. Perhaps it is a cleaner grinder as well, as the exit chute looks slightly different. The other differences that I...

The SGP has a PF holder, provides timed doses in 0.2s increments (programmable for 1, 2, x cups...), is quieter, cleaner, comes with a grounds container, removable tray, etc. I can't imagine the burrs would be identical, the SGP has 60 grind settings vs 25 on the Sunbeam/Graef. In addition...
