OK I managed to fix it. Thanks really go to John for making me double-check my assumptions. I tried pressing the "button" next to the steam outlet with a screwdriver to see if that made the descale light come on, it didn't. So then, like John, I started thinking, how does it know?? Next I...

There's a small button next to the steam outlet. When you push either the frother or the descale pipe into place, you activate this button, so the machine knows something is connected there.

Thank you for responding. I've tried as you suggested - running the rinse cycle again made no difference. I then pressed all 4 buttons, and they all briefly flashed white, before reverting to just the 2 buttons on the LHS lit. This occurs whether or not the frother is attached. If it's...

I have inherited Latissima EN.520 Machine that is behaving a little strangely. When I switch it on, all 4 lights flash, but after a couple of seconds I am left with just the lights on the LHS showing. If I unplug the milk frother and plug it back in, the descale light comes on - orange. I've...

Well - I mustn't have looked very hard when I looked before because the rubber seal is obvious - I think now I remember I just asked on a magimix spare parts website and they said there was no seal. Getting it out may be another kettle of fish - almost certainly need to destroy it to remove it...

Ah sorry - it comes out around the sides of the coffee holder. In my old Gaggia, there was a replaceable rubber ring in there, but there doesn't seem to be one in the Maximix, at least not as far as I can see, and can't see it on any spare-parts sites.

Hi, I've tried many different coffee machines, but the one that consistently makes the best coffee for my liking is an old Magimix L'Expresso I picked up for nothing. This one The only problem is that unless the coffee is quite coarse ground, it leaks - sometimes terribly. I contacted a...
